DR. MONICA COLEMAN

OWNER, PHYSICAL THERAPIST

DR. MONICA COLEMAN, PT, DPT

Monica Coleman is a board-certified physical therapist that has spent the past 17 years working with the Geriatric and Orthopedic populations in various settings. Providing care across multiple settings has allowed her to fine tune her skills so that she is able to deliver exceptional care to her patients. Experience in the traditional therapy setting also helped her understand the importance that prevention and wellness play in lessening the loss of function due to age-related changes or after a therapy discharge. This sparked her desire to offer fitness classes in combination with physical therapy and led to the creation of Age at Home Therapy.

Monica earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Prairie View A&M University, a Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Montana. She is a member of the Geriatric Section of the American Physical Therapy Association and is a Certified Senior Fitness and Fall Prevention Specialist.

She is very involved in her community, running a non-profit that strives to improve access to higher education to under-represented communities and by routinely giving lectures on topics related to the aging adult. She is also a proud and active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
